Anchor Baby vs Other methods of entrance. |
|
It's an issue which may not be "hot" this week, but it's still out there. To recap, the RW were trying to make this an Economic issue. Taking aside the moral and ethical problems with their argument, some were going as far as claiming that it was in the best interest of this country to selectively deny anchor baby status to Hispanics who were born in this country to parents with illegal alien status. Not any other nationality, just Hispanics. Yes, they're that specific, in case you haven't been following the issue.
Though they claim it's just for economic purposes, when you push the argument they will tell you that there is a fear that someone who was born here will be raised elsewhere and come back to the U.S. twenty years later to do harm to the country, if not economically, then through national security problems.
So, I thought to myself, if they're worried about national security issues, why would someone have to wait twenty years? America, which has become a bit of whore when it comes to its principles, will provide green cards to individuals who meet certain criteria. One of them is as simple as purchasing property. If I were worried about a national security risk, I would look at these quick and easy deals that get made through business. With cash down, anyone who has the money to sponsor a guerrilla army can get a foothold in this country. So why isn't this loophole being looked at more closely?
