Listening to Eric Cantor Yesterday Got Me Thinking...
If it's REALLY just the 3% that goes to abortion services that has the Repubs in a tiffy, then instead of trying to defund all of PP, why not just try to defund the 3%, or have sanctions on what can and cannot be done with the money. Hmm...

1. Can't be
Federal Funding of abortion does not exist . . . it's outlawed.

So the 'lie' is the Cant-Do is even saying the Federal Till is paying for abortion in the first place.

It's REALLy about telling women what they can and cant-do with their bodies since no sane woman would ever do Cant-Do or the Tan Man.

2. I believe there is already a sanction in place, disallowing any federal funds
to be spent on abortions. But I could be mistaken

:hi:

8. Repubs are real good at screaming that
"There ouaght to be a law" when there already is one...There is no government funding of abortion, period...it's illegal. There already is a law.

10. It was a wedge issue. Something to get their base all riled up
and throw a bone to the religious right wing which has been feeling neglected and thrust out into the cold by the money guys. Plus it has the added advantage of getting the left scared and angry. It is used as leverage. Down deep inside, they want to keep abortion legal so that it can continue to be a divisive issue to use in campaigns.

11. They aren't interested in the issues of abortion OR Planned Parenthood
They just want the money for the tax-cuts for their wealthy "contributors" and corporations.
