Take Money From Defense, Subsidies, and Tax Cuts

If the Republican Party and the Tea Party want concessions in order to raise the debt limit then take the money from the Defense Department, subsidies, and tax cuts. I will state at this point that I am very pro-military; however, around $100 billion to $200 billion can be taken from the Defense Department without hurting the military. Doing this will save the government $1 trillion to $2 trillion over ten years. Next, member of Congress can cut or eliminate oil and gas subsidies. That could save the government $2 billion to $4 billion per year. That would equal $20 billion to $40 billion over ten years. There are probably a whole host of other subisidies that Congress can also cut. After cutting the subsidies Congress can then move on to raising tax rates on the highest income earners. Doing that could bring in as much as $1 trillion per year. That would equal $10 trillion over ten years. As a result of these cuts, around $11 trillion to $12 trillion can be cut from the budget over the next ten years.

This is not about balancing the budget or raising the debt ceiling. It's about finding more ways to pick our pockets particularly on the backs of the poor and sick.

and dieing in the streets much much more than now, and I'm serious. I don't know what it will take to wake people up, but these people are dead serious in destroying this country for most and ushering in slave labor, and rolling the country backward as far as they can.

everywhere? Honestly, it should be printed up and pasted to every street corner. Even teaparty nutcases would go along with cutting the military. If people don't get loud about this we will find ourselves on the losing end of the deal yet again.
