7. That.
Sad when he has two ways to run his campaign:

1) Go birther/bagger and trash his image for all eternity. (And, "admit" that RomneyCare was BAAAAD!!)
2) Run as the "normal" alternative to insane and alienate the majority of his base.

2. He will go "birther" any day now or he is out. He needs to do something to overcome his being a
Mormon. He needs the teabaggers but he won't get them in the primaries.

6. He just needs a mildly birther running-mate.
The birthers will associate and vote for him then the GOP will muzzle the guy so he doesn't push centrists away.

Personally, I think a well-cut New england candidate is someone the GOP need to stay alive. Plus, his state has been doing healthcare for awhile now... I think that give's a bit of an edge on that fron tof debates. I think he'll try hard to disassociate from wall street and big business and push fiscal responsibility & health care.

I think romney, with the right running mate, could be dangerous.

8. Won't this be a problem for Religious Right voters?
Or will it help mobilize fundamentalists?

I don't get this

This will be the end of his road.

10. It's way too early to make any accurate predictions about the election.
Even the primary.

I learned that the hard way following the 2008 election cycle.

13. I predict the M$M will give the Republicans LOTS of attention
The primaries could be a complete freak$how if Palins and Trumps jump in

Obama will win, but he's not going to get as much attention

Republicans don't like him, don't want him, and won't nominate him

He's the "nice neighborhood boy" your Momma wants you to date:rofl:

15. They said the same about mccain.
The rednex in the south will vote for anyone who isn't black.
Therefore the man with the most $ will win and it'll probably be him since the yankee thugertarians who vote first in the primary will pick him.

Edited on Mon Apr-11-11 06:34 PM by SoCalDem
Dole....or McCain?

Tea bag people will not support him, and they are avid primary voters.

they prefer batshit crazy to a mormon.

17. I don't think you're right about that one.
Although I think the fire under their ass is going to cool down as things with the economy improve.
Of course, they'll still fight to get the black man out of office.

18. They hate the "black man in the WH", but to win, they need an energized base
unless they can find someone they like, they will just stay home, and spend their time trying to make a 2nd term even more miserable. I can't see the party wasting money & energy on someone they don't like..

the system they use for primaries, pretty much eliminates Romney. Huckleberry probably won't be in, but Bachmann will play his role this time around..

14. Is Romney interesting?
A man last in political office in January of 2007? He's won one election and he failed to gain > 50% of the vote in that election. As always the highlight of his running for office seems to be his entering the race. He always polls less interesting the longer he's around.
