For the gov't, the issue is TRILLIONS. Some of the cuts are measured in millions. |

When you have this situation, the cuts are political, not meaningful.
Yes, I know. Millions are actual money.
As someone analogized, cutting millions in a trillion dollar crisis is like canceling the extended portion of the HBO portion of your cable bill when your McMansion is in foreclosure.
Raise taxes on the rich.
Cut the DoD

even if it's not a lot now at least it's saving us the interest we'd otherwise have to pay on that debt.
Compound interest is either wonderful or horrifying depending on which side of the equation you're on.

For example, a few million is meaningless is a trillion dollar deficit. A few million to the Arts is huge. repubicans hate the arts.
Any party that makes Bo Derrick the national Arts icon proves this.
