Poll shows a majority of Americans believe GOP House "extremist"
A new PPP poll shows that a majority of Americans see the GOP lead House as being too "extremist". 48% have figured this out while only 40% believe they are part of the "mainstream".

Despite quiet acquiescence by the Democrats, a majority already have this perception. The White House and the Democrats need to seize on this and use the bully pulpit to keep hamming the Republicans on this. They need to start hammering on the disastrous details of the 'courageous' Ryan plan, on tax fairness, and on corporate tax loopholes.

They also need to hammer away at the reality that the current deficit is as much a revenue problem as a spending problem. Current Federal revenue is under 15% of GDP. Even Ryan's 'plan' calls for an revenue of 18% of GDP. How are they going to achieve that? Oh yes, I forgot, tax cuts create more jobs and more tax revenue. Just ignore the times it didn't happen.

1. I don't know what to think about polls anymore
but it seems to me that you can believe a poll that goes against the republicans.

2. The current deficit is mostly a revenue problem.
Although, true, unpaid for, and formerly unbudgeted, wars have made it partially an expenditure problem.

4. Been a while since I studied stats, but I recall learning that 48% was less than a "majority". n/t

5. A majority of those who expressed opinions
48% - 40%. Let's not nitpick. There will always be a segment that can't figure out a damn thing.

6. The word you should've used was plurality, not majority
Majority is always > 50% of any given figure; a plurality is less than 50% but nevertheless is the top vote getter.

But either way, this is heartening news, and thank you for posting it.
