Stewart on Sen. Kyl’s ‘political strategy known as lying’
Source: Raw Story
By Kase Wickman

Last week, one of the last sticking points in reaching a budget deal to avoid government shutdown was whether Planned Parenthood would receive federal funding or not. Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) argued that abortion is “well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does,” when abortions actually account for only 3 percent of PPFA’s services. When confronted, his office said that it was “not intended to be a factual statement.”

Jon Stewart contributed his own “not intended to be a factual statement” about Kyl on last night’s Daily Show. Find out what it is, and hear his analysis of ”the political strategy known as lying” by watching the clips below.

These clips originally aired on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, on April 11, 2011

2. To be fair
Senator Kyl barely passed high school, so he doesn't know the difference between 90% and 3% and can't tell the difference between the government funding something and the government not funding something

3. I think every time a Republican opens their mouth now they shoulb be asked
Is this a factual statement? What bullshit, "I never intended it as a factual statement"

4. Since Rachel talked about this again tonight, I was wondering...
isn't that called lying. Since he said it on the House floor isn't that lying to Congress? I thought that was a crime. Am I missing something here?

I think that whenever a repugnant politician is talking, the audience and maybe reporters, if they are around, should be asking if what they are saying is an factual statement or a lie?
