4. I agree except "less crime".

There will be some less. Those who smoke it. And those who deal** it only because they are the ones who know where to get it.

But those who make a living off marijuanaj, the ones who kill their rivals, are not going to suddenly get a real job. They will find other illegal business to occupy them.

Still, legalizing it certainly will not make crime worse. And it has all those other advantages.

Not to mention the fact that there really just isn't any rational reason for it to be illegal in the first place.

**Those up the ladder one rung prefer limiting their buyers forcing a few users to do the retail selling; street sellers like that often sell at cost making no profit whatsoever while being painted as dangerous criminals).

8. At worst it might cause a very short term increase in crime followed by a dramatic drop
As the ones that were smuggling it try to switch to different income sources, they're going to run into the people that already control those areas. The other areas are already there and already running at maximum capacity, that's why there are turf wars.

OTOH, decriminalizing those who smoke it and deal it will cause a large http://www.drugwarfacts.org/cms/Marijuana#Total">drop in crime. If it had been legal in 2009 it would have caused a drop of about 6.2 percent.

6. The DEA and the corrupt officers in it would lose billions though.
I agree, but it's never going to happen.

7. Out here, the market is flooded.
Guys are dumping $5K weed for $3K. There's just too much product on the market.
