Three men arrested in Morgan Hill after crying goat is found in car trunk

Three men were arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty on Friday after Morgan Hill police discovered a goat hog-tied in the trunk of their car, a police sergeant said.

A patrol officer pulled over the car after the driver cut him off on Monterey Road near San Pedro Avenue, Morgan Hill police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said.

The driver, 40-year-old Ciro Paredes of Morgan Hill, did not have a driver's license, and the officer smelled alcohol in the vehicle, according to Neumayer.

During a search of the car, the patrol officer found open beer cans and plastic bags filled with what he suspected was crystal methamphetamine, Neumayer said.

yet now and again I read one and regret it for a long time.

I think about my little goats and I can't imagine what I would do to someone who tried to harm them. For a non violent person I think I could get good and riled up into a violent state if anyone ever tried to hurt any of my animals.

11. SOME PARTS...but not necessarily ALL...of Morgan Hill could be considered a "toilet."

If I had to pick a city in or near Silicon Valley in which cops pulled over three guys for having a hog-tied goat in the trunk, Morgan Hill would toip the list.

And I only did that "some not all" thing in the subject line out of respect for any DUers who might live there. But THEY KNOW.

Goats are physically tough little critters but emotionally very sensitive and love to be loved.

13. This reminds me of a similar incident that happened locally

about ten years ago-- minus the beer and meth. A resident noticed a group of men cutting the throat of a goat outside an apartment complex and immediately called the police because it was obviously a case of SATAN WORSHIP! As it turned out, the men, who were recent immigrants from Mexico, were preparing to slaughter the goat for a barbecue, as was common practice back home. Granted, their actions were in violation of local health ordinances, but, still, some people around the world do kill the animals they eat themselves.
And no, I'm not suggesting that driving while drinking with meth in the car is acceptable behavior. If found guilty, I figure they'll be punished more than sufficiently enough for that. There's no need to tack on additional years of jail time for a do-it-yourself, start-to-finish barbecue.
Unless, of course, they were actually intent on indulging in some sort of ritualistic animal sacrifice. In that case... well, never mind. Check the names of those involved, though, and see which scenario is more likely.
