Couple caught having sex at children’s library

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A couple was caught having sex at a children’s library on Tuesday.

ImaginOn is a library and a children’s theatre. Hundreds of children visit the venue every day.

Police say a 20-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were caught having sex in the teen lounge around 3 p.m. Tuesday. The lounge is not walled off and there isn’t anything to keep kids from walking into the area. Fortunately, there were not any children in that area when the incident happened.

Not that I agree with the young folks in the story, but to characterize sex as “That’s disgusting,” says parent Camisha Lewis. “That’s really nasty. I wouldn’t want my child to see that.” is just plain puritanical and is a large part of the conservative "problem" we have in this country.

I don't think it was the act itself being indicted by the parent, but the context (i.e., the time and the place). I'd imagine unchecked hedonism would be just as silly as unchecked Puritanism... :shrug:

At least there's a small number now that can honesrly way they learned at the library.
At least someone is using the library in this twitter/facebook age.

On edit: I notice no children witnessed the event. Maybe this incident will finally see common sense rules enacted that require children's literary characters like Winnie the Pooh to wear pants while at the library. We learn by example.
