TSA security looks at people who complain about ... TSA security
TSA security looks at people who complain about ... TSA security

Washington (CNN) -- Don't like the way airport screeners are doing their job? You might not want to complain too much while standing in line.

Arrogant complaining about airport security is one indicator Transportation Security Administration officers consider when looking for possible criminals and terrorists, CNN has learned exclusively. And, when combined with other behavioral indicators, it could result in a traveler facing additional scrutiny.

CNN has obtained a list of roughly 70 "behavioral indicators" that TSA behavior detection officers use to identify potentially "high risk" passengers at the nation's airports.

--------------------

But one addresses passengers' attitudes towards security, and how they express those attitudes.

It reads: "Very arrogant and expresses contempt against airport passenger procedures."

1. Yeah.. if you don't like getting felt up you are a terrorist.
Especially if you haven't made it out of the first grade yet.

2. Basic psychology. Don't treat people who are going to approve
you for something with contempt. That rarely works out well.

5. Sure... In a democracy, we should expect our TSA to be

fully worthy of such contempt. :eyes:

Honestly, such bullying tactics have NOTHING to do with security and in fact, likely distract them from identifying an actual threat. Why as a collective WE would we stand for such?

15. When I fly, I'm not a collective. I'm a guy who's going somewhere
on a plane. My number 1 priority is to get on that plane with the least hassle possible. I'm pleasant, prepared, and cooperative with the security measures. So far, in many, many flights, my priority is quite simply meant. Have you been bullied by the TSA? Please describe the incident.

19. I have described my experiences with TSA several times...
You are free to search my posts--easy enough.

That said, I am polite and would be. I do not, however believe that TSA should not be a target of populist demonstration. You may feel fine about letting them go uncontrolled and uncontrollable. Most of us do not. Congress should continue to hear about these incidents, as should ACLU that has been documenting complaints of TSA excesses. Roll over if you please. In a democracy, that is a dangerous attitude.

18. exactly
Someone with something to hide wants to keep a low profile and isn't going to be making a scene or carrying on about the TSA before they even go through security. This is about beating us into submission, being compliant and accepting being violated.

10. it is not my job to be happy, smiling, complacent to NOT be harassed
and if ANY in a position of power cannot handle that, they should be fired.

17. As far as I know, you don't have a job at the airport. You have
a need or desire to go somewhere. The TSA workers do have a job. Their job is well understood. I've not experienced any hassling or bullying from any TSA worker. I've never personally witnessed any such thing. Have you? Please describe the incident in detail, so I'll understand what you're talking about.

I always find that being pleasant and cooperative works very well at the airport and everywhere else when dealing with people who are working there. Perhaps your experiences have been different.

for THEM?

12. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm certainly willing to
go into my plane after passing through security. I've never been harassed by the TSA. I've never seen anyone being harassed by the TSA in person. In fact, it all seems to go very smoothly on every flight I've been on.

4. next time you go through, two recommendations. 1. act like you're going to puke 2. act horny
when they are patting you down and looking at you, act like "oh yeas that's it. Maybe I'm hiding something, frisk away big boy"

If you fly Southwest, faking nausea might get you an empty seat on either side if the flight's not full, but it will at least get you the armrests

13. I go easy on the TSA fellas doing the pat downs
None of them have ever looked like they enjoyed having to pat down this brotha.

I just tell them to "do what you gotta do". In the end the TSA guys are very professional and as courteous as can be given the circumstances.

In one case the guy was clearly uncomfortable with having to do it. He probably knew he wasn't gonna find anything on me and I was simply exercising my right to opt out of the backscatter x-ray.

6. Vocal complainers are big TSA threat indicators?
Have they never heard of "It's the quiet ones you have to worry about"?

:banghead:
