Woman denies making 'true threat' against abortion doctor

WICHITA | A Kansas woman accused of sending a threatening letter to a doctor planning to do abortions in Wichita says she never intended to make a "true threat" of force.

Angel Dillard says in an affidavit filed Friday in federal court that she does not personally believe in acts of violence against anyone, including abortion providers.

An attorney for the 44-year-old Valley Center woman is seeking to delay a hearing set for Tuesday on the government's request for a temporary injunction keeping Dillard away from the doctor and her clinic. The lawyer says prosecutors have no objection to rescheduling the hearing for later this month.

Prosecutors allege Dillard violated the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act when she mailed a letter to Mila Means.

You will be checking under your car everyday — because maybe today is the day someone places an explosive under it . . .
