Maine Man Pleads Guilty To Making Threats Against NPR Hosts

A 38-year-old Maine man pleaded guilty to sending threatening emails to NPR hosts Melissa Block and Guy Raz.

As we reported in March, John Crosby was arrested in January after FBI investigators said he sent more than 20 threatening e-mails through NPR's "Contact Us" form.

At a District Court in Portland, the AP reports, Crosby pleaded guilty to "making threatening communications across state lines and to being a felon in possession of a firearm:"

He remains in custody pending sentencing. U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II says the crimes carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

"We are very grateful for the efforts of the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office in this matter," said NPR spokeswoman Anna Christopher. "The safety of our staff is our first and foremost concern."
