Flashback - Trump: "I’ve said if [Ivanka] wasn't my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 03:03 AM by Adenoid_Hynkel
From 2006:

It all began when Trump was asked how he'd react if Ivanka, a former teen model, posed for Playboy.

"If she posed, it would be fine. But it depends on what's inside the magazine," Trump answered.

"Although she does have a very nice figure," he said. "I've said if she wasn't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her."

Damn straight. They would LOVE to go back to the ways of the fathers, uncles, grandpas and older brother/uncle/daddys.

9. Reminds me of some of the comments
made by Jon Voight about his daughter. I can remember getting creeped out at the time.

2. "Under sexy lighting, I would rape my daughter."
Basically what he's saying here.

Not exactly a slogan to campaign on.

3. Please...
I think Trump is a clown, but I think you're putting

ugly and unfair words in his mouth.

That's not what his words say.

4. If, like me, you reject social conservatism and religious morality
Edited on Sat Apr-16-11 05:14 AM by Chris_Texas
You should avoid making statements of this kind. Nor is it anything less than hypocritical to judge a conservative (assuming Trump actually is one) under different standards than you would judge a liberal.

In any case, there is nothing wrong with Trump's statement. I happen to think my daughter is beautiful, and i would have no problem with her posing in a magazine if that'swhat she felt like doing. This does not mean I want to rape her.

8. Trump's actual words are bad enough without embellishment
Doesn't it make more sense to paint his supporters into a corner by making them defend Trump's actual words than to allow them to portray your highly subjective embellishment as pure D horseshit? I'd rather address his actual quotes than get into a whole 'thing' with his defenders over subjective meanings. What he said is bad enough in & of itself, but putting words in his mouth provides ammunition to his defenders in the form of accusations that they will contort into 'baseless attacks.'

10. Ugh. Ivanka Trump is a laissez-fail Friedmanite.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lVCmzTh4Lk&feature=related

Can't find the interview on YouTube, but when Ivanka was on CNBC . . . the same old "git rid of regulationz", "Big Gubmint is tha DEVUL!", "Too much government interference in bizness is BAD, BAD I SAY!!" bullshit. Fellow laissez-failists Joe Kernan and Becky Quick ate it up like oatmeal, of course. Made me sick. Gee, Donald has taught her well, I guess.
