Tea Bagger's poster reveals the real reason they're targeting Latinos on immigration. |
|
In Arizona a crime to be an illegal alien In D.C. it's a vote. Is this what it's really all about? Are they targeting Latinos because they think illegal aliens are voting in the elections? How realistic is this fear? It must be an issue for them because of all the demand for I.D. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/politics/os-tea-party-tax-day-20110415,0,121985.story

1. The Koch Party doesn't care about the truth. They want frenzy. |
|
Frenzy has driven their captives to the polls to usher in the 2010 GOP governors to crush good government as soon as they can in their states.

3. So we're back to racist concerns? Because, I don't see too much color |
|
outside of white and pink cheeks in the people in that photograph at the link. Major dog whistling politics. I've been following this issue. They are trying to isolate Latinos by any method other than coming out and mentioning race (outside of discriminating against them, of course). They try to justify what they're doing based on economics, but the poster reveals that they're willing to throw everything, including the kitchen sink to get rid of Latinos, because the bottomline is that it's racism that's driving their motivation.

2. No, they're not afraid of illegal immigrants voting. |
|
They're afraid of people who are allowed to vote voting. Any institutionalized suspicion of this nature will make it harder for certain people to vote.

4. All Republicans are not like this but I have always maintained |
|
there is quite a difference between rank and file Republicans and the people they send to D.C.
Having said that in fairness, let me now explain the Immigration Issue.
For as long as I can remember, GOP office holders have needed a scapegoat or boogey man. They play the politics of Division very well and unfortunately our party has never stood up as a group and called them out on this. For years, they used the African Americans to play against the Blue Collar expecially the lower earner BC. The Welfare Queen was living on easy street driving cadillacs while the poor blue collars supported her with their taxes. Or better still the African Americans were taking Blue Collar Jobs away from poor white folks. This is how they tried to lower the Democratic Vote. It BC vote Republican they are not voting for Democrats. It is that simple
Guess what there are more Latinos now than Blacks. Theoretically this means potentially more votes for the Democratic Party. The Republican Party know and understand populism works even if it is dark populism. So once again drive a wedge and do what it takes to discourage Latinos from voting. Marginalize them by making it sound like a whole bunch of illegals are voting all over the US. This will anger the Blue Collars who alresdy feel put upon. They have been hurt more than any other group by this recession. It does not take much to work up a frenzy if they think they are again being cheated.
Are some illegals voting? possibly but not enough to really make a difference. It gives the GOP one hell of a hammer. Truth is the first casualty in campaigns so get ready for a bumpy ride.

6. No, they are worried that citizenship will lead to increased voting numbers |
|
It is just fine to have low paid workers who do not vote, get worker's comp, health insurance, unemployment insurance, or collect social security when they retire.
