April 18th Tax Day: Wells Fargo -- Make them Pay

Cash Register Building (corner of E 17th Ave & Broadway)
18 Apr , 04:30 PM
Enough is enough! On Tax Day, April 18, as millions of Americans patriotically pay our taxes, we will call on corporations and millionaires to pay their fair share. At hundreds of events from coast-to-coast, we'll present tax bills to corporate tax dodgers for the billions of dollars their legions of lobbyists helped them avoid. We'll organize a peaceful, dignified and powerful day of action to call on corporations to pay their fare share.

Not from Denver... find one near you Move on is targeting at leat 10 different corporations....find one for tax day.

3. When the people who organize these things finally figure out
that they are wasting their breath because the corporate controlled media propaganda machine will just ignore them, when they finally figure out that what needs to be done is to surround the offices of the local TV station or newspaper and make it so the people who work there can't get in or out without running the gauntlet, when they finally make it so they can't be ignored, then, I will participate.

Though I have repeatedly participated in these events over the years, the last ones that actually did any good were the ones during the Vietnam war. It was a time, long, long ago when we the people actually had a media. We saw news about the war every night on the TV machine. Now, you wouldn't even know we are at war. It is simply not in the corporate rulers interest to show us any of that stuff. Now, all we see is the orange erection or the quitta from wassilla or two teabaggers and a porta potty. That is the news they want you to see and that is what you get to see.

We have to force the corporate propaganda machine to see us. We have to make it so they can no longer put us on ignore.

That is a demonstration I will gladly participate in.

5. hey...change has always started from the bottom up
and because the one(s) that you participated in didn't bring about the change that was needed, does not mean that it won't. Do you think for one minute that is how MLK reacted or other activists that worked for change? It is long hard gruelling work. It will be our tenacity and our passion that brings about change. In my moveon council that is one of the things we are addressing right now...media.

Sitting on your butt and not participating is just not an option anymore. And I won't back down!

It has gotten to the point that this is serious...and if you're not a part of the solution you are definitely part of the problem

8. I'm not saying don't bother. I'm just saying do it where they can no longer
ignore you. Get in their face!

And don't get on my case about not participating. You don't know anything about me so I'll fill you in.
I'm 60 tears old. I have been taking it to the streets since I was 16. I have voted in EVERY election since I was of age. I have not missed one. My congress critters and Senatewhores and state and city reps have been on my speeddial ever since I had a speeddial. I have a trunk full of letters to the editor that I've had published. I have been the president of our HOA for over five years and, even though I moved from San Jose to Tucson in December, The San Jose board on which I sit has asked me to stand for re-election next month and participate from Tucson. My wife was the President of our neighborhood Association until we moved and we were extreamly active in local politics. We are just getting our feet wet politically in Tucson. We will be attending drinking liberally tonight and I was at the Tucson solidarity rally and the kickoff meeting for Progressive Dems so don't tell me I'm sitting on my hands.

What I'm trying to get people to understand is that the tactics that worked during the Viet Nam era don't work anymore. Standing around on some obscure street corner waving signs is no longer enough.

Oh yeah, I have also been active on DU since a few months after the Bush selection.

Just sayin.

Now Madison...they know how to get it done in Madison!

9. I think our plan is better...
Moved all our money to a CU except for one account at BofA that we keep at just above minimum for free checking. (gotta love those electronic transfers from one bank to another)

That give us one more debit card to use, free checking, and a free Safe Deposit Box.

The minute they hit us with a fee for any of that shit, we're gone.

Use 'em and throw 'em away like Kleenex.. the best strategy.
