Recently, local magazine, OC Weekly has obtained a copy of an email circulating from conservative, Republican Tea Party activist, Marilyn Davenport. In this email, the words, “Now you know why no birth certificate,” are shown alongside a photo of the Obama family as apes.

Davenport insists, that this email is something different. “Oh, come on! Everybody who knows me knows that I am not a racist. It was a joke. I have friends who are black. Besides, I only sent it to a few people–mostly people I didn’t think would be upset by it.”

The premise of that picture is a racist joke. It cant be seen as anything else. I would simply like to see her asked why she sent the email and what she thought it meant.
