Republicans need to follow the lead of Sarah Palin, she has valuable advice they need to hear

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is coming to Wisconsin to defend Gov. Scott Walker’s proposals. Walker would strip Wisconsin state, county and municipal employees and teachers of basic rights in the workplace, and render public employee and teacher unions dysfunctional by ending basic protections for their existence in the workplace and political sphere. He would undermine local democracy at the town, school district and municipal level, and restructure state government to limit access to health care and sell off public properties in no-bid deals with his campaign donors.

But, while Palin may not be in tune with Wisconsin sentiments or values, she can still contribute — mightily, we believe — to the discourse.

Before completing her single term as governor of Alaska, Palin chose to quit her position.

We think there is much to say for this approach and we hope that she will counsel Gov. Walker — and Lt. Gov. Kleefisch — to consider doing the same.
