We have a 10 month old grandson. You never realize how lucky you are sometimes that you have problems.

8. I have Meniere's Disease, so I am severely hearing-impaired,

and my deafness is progressive. One ear is already almost completely "dead," and the other will get that way eventually.

Right now I am getting by with very expensive top-of-the-line digital hearing aids, but the audiologist predicts that within the enet ten years I will probably need to have a cochlear implant.

I know that the "sound" from CIs is not really the same sort of sound one hears with real ears, but I am still very glad that such an option is available to me, and I am thrilled that it is available for babies and young children, so that they can benefit from hearing during the window of opportunity for learning language.

I have actually seen this video before, but I can never get enough of it!
