40 Days w/ no Alcohol
When is Lent over again? I've heard everything from 40 days, Good Friday or Easter. Weigh in, religious scholars.

Sundays are not part of Lent!

Drink up, you may have only 40 minutes of Sunday left.

12. Easter
and my mother used to count the minutes because every year my dad would give up his bourbon and every year he'd be like a bear with a sore head until Easter evening.

13. If you really wanted to stop drinking, then kudos to you.
Othwerwise, what does Lent have to do with it?

If you're not chemically dependant on alcohol, then you either choose to drink, or you don't.

Why let anything else cloud your own vision of yourself? YOU chose not to drink, not some abstract ritual on a calendar.

Does your life routinely fall apart after Lent?

14. Umm...
I just gave it up for Lent. Maybe next year I give up TV. Not looking to permanently quit anything...let's not overthink this. :toast:

16. I gave up Catholicism for Lent.
Wasn't that hard, since I wasn't Catholic to begin with.
