Koch Industries buying ads to refute news stories
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/04/18/kochs-industries-buying-ads-to-refute-news-stories/

By Eric W. Dolan

Koch Industries has launched a website and is buying advertisements on Google and Facebook to counter news stories critical of the politically-active company.

Charles and David Koch, owners of Koch Industries, were principle financiers of Wisconsin's Republican Governor Scott Walker and the tea party movement. They are also supporters of groups like Americans for Prosperity, the Cato Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and the Reason Foundation.

In response to a story by the Center for Public Integrity that outlined Koch’s multimillion-dollar lobbying network in Washington, Koch Industries has started an ad campaign targeting the nonprofit organization.

1. To tell the Big Lie, and tell it often,
you need deep pockets.

3. I think these people have too much money.
It's time to bring back the Eisenhower era 90% income tax rate for billionaires. It should do wonders for the deficit too. No need to strip Social Security, Medicaire, Medicaid and other programs that help the poor and working families.

10. I couldn't agree with you more re: bringing back Eisenhower era top marinal tax rates...
I got into an argument with one of my coworkers the other day about this. He said he didn't have a problem with people who made lots of money and that such taxation wouldn't be fair and would hurt investment and entrepreneurship. I agrued that neither of these would be likely affected since most high dollar investments by the wealthy are not made using their own personal wealth, but rather through private and public corporations that are not taxed at the same rate. In fact, such taxation would encourage investent in business and the economy rather than pulling out money to pay themselves.

I also told him that, frankly, too much wealth in the hands of the very few is dangerous to the healthy functioning of a democratic society. This pretty well shut him up as he mulled that over.

4. Probably hiring folks to post online, too
‘Course, the Kochs may persuade some poor damn fool
To go to your website and act like a stool;
But you can always tell a stool, though - that’s a fact;
He’s got a yellow streak running down his back;
He doesn’t have to stool - he'll always make a good living
On what he takes out of blind men’s cups.

6. Why are they so sensitive all of a sudden?
Hmmmmmmm....everything they do is planned out or is damage control. Maybe someone has gotten under their skin or a story is close to breaking.

8. Force 'Em To Spend Money...
The more they spend, the more they expose themselves. Their game has been exposed. A year ago few people would have known who the Kochs are...today it's another story. These weasels don't like the light being shone on them and think they can buy their annonymity back. Let's make it cost them dearly. The one thing rich people hate to do is spend money and not get anything in return for it.

11. That seems like it might backfire.

If I see an ad declaring that X didn't do Y, I'm going to pretty much automatically google "X did Y" and find out what the fuss is about. All this smoke is going to make people start hunting the fire.

12. No wonder the Tea Party has evaporated. Koch Industries is spending its $$ on ads
instead of rent-a-protesters.
