Well isn't this slick -- is this new?
Just got a robo-call from my skeevy rep, Phil Gingrey of Georgia. Seems he's doing *phone* townhall meetings. Of course, we *missed* it (never got the call about it actually) and he apologized that happened.

Now -- is this a new tactic? Because I know for a fact that any emails sent to his office requires a phone number included. If he's using a master list, he could easily filter out any phone numbers from troublemakers like myself, because of previous emails.

Is anyone else getting calls like this?

I'm going to call tomorrow to see if he's having any real TH meetings during the upcoming break. But this seems like a real sneaky way of avoiding people who don't buy into what he's selling.

1. They're probably afraid to host town meetings in public these days.
The country is turning. I hope.

5. "Hi, this is Donnachaidh was sorry to hear that I missed the
phone Town Hall meeting. What do I need to to so I'm included in the next one?" *Silence as you hear keyboard clicks* Dial Tone.

3. They are all the rage now.

You can connect with more voters, quickly and cheaply any day of the week from wherever you are. Both parties love them, and voters do ask them tough questions live.

Very successful, far more positives than negs. Biggest neg is the robo-call with the invite but still works out huge for the incumbent.

It's a big deal and expect to see many more.

4. They'll happily notify you of any future town hall phone conferences
Within an hour or two of their conclusion. "Skeevy" is the perfect adjective for this. Don't be shy about writing a letter to the local newspaper to let them know about how ordinary citizens are having difficulty getting through to their elected representative. Even the reddest paper can feign some concern about this sort of chicanery, properly couched.
