Seriously, you could make the entire movie about paint drying and yet if it's somehow connected to Ayn Rand the teabagging nutjobs will wet themselves with glee.

3. Freepers. Give it time and the Freep will wear off and curve will re-adjust itself.

5. Probably never will because it's such a limited release film
and probably most of us won't bother to rate it.

Mind you I doubt it'll become the next Shawshank Redemption but won't get a Gigli user rating either.

4. Only one movie in top twenty had higher screen average
It was a top 14 movie even though only showed on 299 screens.

All this means is it is a cult movie. In this case, political right cult movie.
I don't see it gaining wide appeal.

7. My theory; those that went to see the film because they idolize Rand, believe
it is an 'intellectual' film, causing them to rate it highly out of feeling stupid if they didn't understand or like it. They hate being thought stupid, at least in my experiences.

Just a theory, as I said.

11. You may be on to something. Most of the "libertarians" I know aren't quite sharp enough to process

philosophical debate. They just like guns and money and think libertarianism will somehow give them more of both. They see the trailer for this movie and they think its gonna be like if Wall Street were directed by Michael Bay. They are disappointed, because its a low budget piece of crap, but they won't voice that opinion because they are afraid there's some secret message or meaning that they didn't get.

12. Humans were little group animals not too long ago. The top dog ruled the pack.
When faced with repeated aggression we used to become followers of a 'strongman'. Rand hits one over the head with said aggression. It is a survival mechanism. The randians and right wingers go to relive their conversion. In the same way born again christians like the christian literature because it does the christian transformational rebirth thing. You like the patterns you know especially the ones that lead up to a creation, rebirth, transformation. We were born to fall for it.
