it difficult to tell if a girl is 16 or 20 sometimes, and it makes you think twice before talking to them.

Have you watched any Hollywood movies lately? |

A few times I've seen someone I thought was very attractive on screen, only to find out later that person was 17, 16, or in one frightening instance 15. My reaction is always the same: I hear Alonzo Bodden's bit about "Now I did not KNOW that I was a pedophile..." and then immediately think "Well maybe if they're underage they shouldn't be half naked on screen!"

41. That is an incredibly poor guideline, there. |
|
"Girls without hips are underage" does not equal "girls with hips are of age".
There are plenty of girls even as young as 13 & 14 who appear physically mature - particularly today, when girls are maturing a year, two years earlier than they did when I was growing up.
If that is your criterion, I guarantee you have been checking out underage girls.

but usually my taste falls, well did fall, to older women, who are my age now.
i can't name all the criteria, becuase i don't know them all myself. it's usually just a "feeling,"
how a person acts, how a person carries themselves, etc..etc..
i may not not have good social skills, but i am perceptive about people.

36. I'm not saying that checking out underage people should happen |
|
I'm saying that despite our best intentions, it totally does happen, and pretending it doesn't or that people who check out someone underage are horrible sex perverts is ridiculous.
Now if you realize that the person is underage and you decide to act on it knowing that information... THAT'S a problem.

14. My father told a funny story... |
|
He owned an auto shop in a small town, right on the main street. Like with many auto shops, there was always a group of men who dropped by for coffee in the morning and stood around chewing the fat early in the morning. Well, the shop was on a street lots of high school kids used to walk to school.
One day, they were standing around, when a group of high school girls walked by. One of the men in the group said, "Nice ass on that one on the left."
My father pointed out to the guy that the one on the left was the guy's daughter.
Oops. Sort of an embarrassing moment for the guy, I'd think.

That being said, I am 50 years old, and I'm not checking out young hotties, except in the most abstract way. As in, "that's a handsome kid." When I was 21, I "checked out" age appropriate men. Maybe a couple of them were underage, but I would not have known unless I spoke to them. I never had sexual contact with a person whose age I did not know.

20-something guy and his friend hitting (hard) on me and wouldn't believe that I was only 14 (I had always passed for older) until one of my older co-workers confirmed my age. The guy turned ash white at the realization he had been hitting on a child. One of the more fun (now - scary at the time) moments of my youth.

28. You know what's weird? |
|
Last year, I went to Cedar Point with my (then) 14 year old son. With all of the girls surrounding him, I literally was not able to tell girls who were his age (judging by the fact that they wore HS attire as opposed to college/sorority gear) from the college-age ones. Before, you were able to. Now, they all just have young faces and developed bodies.
We were up in Maine and even my kid got mistaken for an 18-year old, which is bizarre since he looks like a very young 6' 1" kid even at 15.
