Cenk continues to educate on Social Security
Bravo Cenk

There are no IOUs - that's people's money that they paid into the system.

2. When were the IOUs paid off. It is my understanding the only
reason they are putting SS on the table for cuts.

They do not want to pay the IOUS back. Reagan
did a huge buildup of denfense using SS and leaving
IOUs.

Both parties have borrowed out of SS and left IOUs.

When were these humongous bills repaid???

4. You are correct
But as Cenk pointed out - they sure have to pay the IOUs to China, etc.

6. Do you think it would have been better to borrow that money from China instead?
Be realistic. The government can create unlimited amounts of fiat currency if it desires. It makes no sense for us to "store up" dollars in an SS fund and then turn around and borrow money from somewhere else.

7. It's much better to borrow money from China than to steal money from people's retirement funds.
