Spending time with conservatives sure reminds me of how much they suck |
|
When I was surrounded mostly by libs I forgot how much I dislike conservative politics. *shudder*

1. I've got 3 conservative brother in laws... |
|
One is a Rush Limbaugh fanatic, is a generally smart guy, and was an honors student in college. I think he's conservative because he was raised in SE Kansas and his dad is a big insurance agent for alot of oil people. Very pro-'business'. I remember during the '08 election he was talking about Obama's book and how Obama had threw his grandparents "under the bus". I was a little disappointed in him at that. Just spewing the talking points. On our last visit I saw he was going to try and tackle an Ayn Rand book(ha!). He was also trying to convince my wife that unions are inherently bad. More propaganda repeating...
The second is a former Air Force guy from NC. He's a hard worker, very industrious, has his own small business. He's not real political, but I know he buys into the Democrats = high taxes for everyone and free wellfare money for lazy poor people. Every time we see him he tells a story about being in the grocery checkout line behind a fat lady with 6 kids, buying milk and formula with WIC and on the same trip buying beer and cigarettes.
My third brother in law, is an ex-convict, occasionally employed, reddest of the rednecks loser. He is always getting into trouble, causing my sister continual grief. He's not real political either, but I know he's racist as they come. He even has "White Pride" tattooed all down his legs, a memento from his prison time I guess. Anyway, even he repeats junk off of right-wing radio. They must repeat their talking points hundreds of times, so people can learn what they are supposed to think by rote.
Anyway, I don't talk politics with any of them.
