With all these "Birther Bills" being ginned up in various states,
can they challenge Obama's ability to run in those
states or at least tie him up with legal challenges??

Yes Jan Brewer vetoed just such a bill. Bobby Jyndahl
seems to be licking his chops to sign a Birther Bill
in La.

I do not know. Why would they be pushing these stupid
bills if they do not have results???

2. Since they are blatantly unconstitutional....
(at least as based on the AZ model that doesn't accept the same proof of citizenship that the FEDS do for passports and other purposes), then I think it would result in a very quick Federal legal challenge with an injunction issued immediately. I think the RETHUGS know this (at least any that have even minimal understanding and intelligence), but think they can capitalize on the embarrassment factor. The last thing Obama's admin would want to have to do is step in with Federal challenge, since that would cement in the minds of the demented ignorant few that he "has something to hide."

3. Obama should support these bills
Have Hawaii send the necessary docs on him to each signing ceremony and a note saying he doesn't want the country to have to go through these distractions in the future so it's a good thing to have the documentation required before the election. Then get some good photos of repubs thinking "that's not the way it was supposed to happen"

4. This may be a stupid question but I really don't know what a "birther bill" is supposed to be
What does a birther bill do and what is it supposed to accomplish? I normally just tune out threads that mention birthers and those fringe weirdos so I haven't paid much attention.

5. A "birther bill" is an attempt to keep Obama off a state's ballot...
...by demanding that he produce some sort of
birth documentation which can't be produced.

6. Good lord, haven't we dispelled this kind of sillyness over the last couple of years?
I always put the birthers up there with people that believe in stuff like alien abductions and end of days. Blarg.

8. Yes,
they can tie up the process, maybe until it's too late to be on the ballet.

I'm beginning to think Obama should start suing these people for something...maybe defamation of character? Liable?
