3. In the comments, The same only myth that opening up
competition across state lines will salve all problems!

:wtf:

Don't these tea bagging nutcases pay attention to history?

Didn't they pay attention to the history of their own credit cards?

When competition was opened up to sell across state lines, that DID NOT mean that customers benefited because we could buy the best card from the state with the best credit laws.

the states competed to have the worst credit laws. The state that won that horrible competition was North Dakota. So every bank moved their credit card divisions there. Every credit card renewal and new offer started coming from North Dakota, because that meant the banks could offer the terms allowable under North Dakota law.

The same thing will happen when insurance can be sold across interstate laws. We won't benefit by being able to by the insurance from the state with the best laws. Insurance companies will start selling their policies and offering their renewals only from the state with the worst laws. Everyone will end up paying more and getting less for it.

The so called free market only benefits the corporations that can manipulate it.
