D.Stockman, OMB Director, REAGAN ADM.: My party has amenesia.

On a panel of "Thinkers" on the Economy C-Span, Tuesday
night.

Reagan did give the Biggest Taxcut in History. The Party
is quick to point this out and repeat it over and over.

They never tell you WE TOOK BACK (40%) Forty per of that
tax cut because we learned it was too big and would hurt
the economy.

"Yes we RAISED TAXES four times until we had taken back
40% of the initial tax cut."

DUers, I was around then and these incidents of raising
taxes were not covered in the Media. Example of a Media
compliant with the right. It was many years later that
it was admitted Regan raised taxes.

Sockman was explaining his view of the economy. He believes
the Republican Plan will takes right back into recession
if it is not stopped. He was pointing out how the present
Republican Party megaphones Reagan's tax cut but do not tell
the whole story.
