War on Easter? Really, Hannity?

(edit to fix the image)

Poor, poor Sean Hannity. He may be a multimillionaire but as a white Christian, he faces terrible discrimination in America. It used to be just the War on Christmas. But now the forces of evil secular liberalism are threatening Easter - or at least Hannity would have you think so. And what better way to show off being a Christian than to use your victimhood as an excuse to attack people who disagree with you? Unfortunately, in this case, Hannity’s examples of the Easter War had almost nothing to do with Easter, much less a war on it, and his Christianity-crusader guest was – well, I hate to say it but she seemed almost demonic.

I’m sure the folks at Fox searched high and low for proof that President Obama is somehow behind the War on Easter (don’t forget those dastardly environmentally-friendly Easter Eggs!) or at least some high-profile liberal that Fox News loves to hate, such as Van Jones or a union member or even a Muslim. But, apparently, the best they could do was Lady Gaga (for her new song called, “Judas”) and Ricky Gervais who had the nerve to criticize Christians at this time of year. Surely, they could have found something “better” from Bill Maher!

My irony meter is broken

7. It's a completely different image
The first image was just a quick ctrl+prn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot#Microsoft_Windows">screenshot while the flash was running. I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIMP">GIMP to crop it but didn't do much else with it. Then I decided to catch a better Hannity expression so I used https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/DownThemAll!">downthemall to download the clip from YouTube and then I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VLC_media_player">VLC to single step through the frames one by one until I found one I thought captured his emotional state and used VLC's built-in frame grabber to save it as a jpg.

6. The pro Easterers can be defeated because at the root of
their philosophy is a basic flaw. They have Easter bunnies and Easter eggs. Those two things don't go together. Is is Easter bunny or Easter Chicken? We drive the wedge there and they're ours.

30. The only problem with that story
The “spring sphere” story was recounted to a Seattle radio station by a 16-year-old volunteer at the school who wouldn’t give her last name or the name of the school in question. She claims she was handing a kid an Easter egg filled with candy. “They said I could do it as long as I called the treats ‘spring spheres.’ I couldn’t call them Easter eggs,” she explained. Which has either prank or media studies project written all over it.

Meanwhile, a Seattle school board spokesperson says that they have been looking into the incident, and can’t find proof that it happened or that any of their schools are using the term “spring sphere.”

Of course, that didn't stop Fox from running with it: http://nation.foxnews.com/culture/2011/04/07/school-renames-easter-eggs-spring-spheres
