Riot-clad police gather where counter-rally against Terry Jones is planned
Emergency crews from more than a half-dozen agencies are gathered outside the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn.

They are on guard for a scheduled 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. counter-rally organized by Detroit-area religious leaders in response to a Florida pastor’s desire to hold his own rally outside Dearborn’s Islamic Center of America, one of the nation’s largest mosques.

Police this afternoon have riot gear on hand visible inside several vans, including helmets and sticks. A Salvation Army Disaster Services van also is on the site.

Pastor Terry Jones – who supervised the burning of a Quran last month in Florida – said he wants to peacefully rally against “the radical element in Islam.”

Jones is in court this morning to see if he can hold a rally without first posting a “peace bond,” which would ensure payment of damages and other public expenses if the rally were to spark violence.

1. I hope nothing whatsoever happens...
OTOH, I wouldn't shed a tear if Terry Jones' "God" managed to allow him to stub his toe, trip on the curb, fall unconscious, only to awaken a few hours later a changed and more tolerant man with a REAL understanding of the tenets of Christ.

2. I wouldn't shed a tear if he fell cracked his head open
and didn't wake up. 2 years ago I would have never said such a thing, but I am seriously losing my tolerance for stupid people.
