Thought crimes...

If the country is in such a critical condition, then we need to be doing something about it.

You may think it is fair to cut old folks off medical care (Medicare) in order to give another trillion dollar taxcut to the wealthy? You may think the government has every right to strip us down at the airports to keep us safe from the terrorists? You may think it is perfectly alright for employers to take all the productivity of the last thirty years and cram it deep into their own pockets and ignore the very workers that created it?

You may think it is necessary to spend a trillion dollars a year on a defense budget that has us in three wars simultaneously and our troops spread around the world? You may think 10% is too much to pay into Social Security and Medicare for your old age? You may think it is "free trade" to fire American workers and hire foreign workers at a cheaper rate?

Whatever you think on these issues, you are taking a side. Both sides are not the same and both sides are not equal. There are consequences to our thoughts as well as our votes.

We cannot argue that the above are not serious problems. They are serious problems for all of us, regardless of Party affiliation. We must have a serious lack of communication if so many Americans cannot see the difference? Or we have some very good propaganda? Or we have some very cynical and devious politicians? Or all the above and more?

Where are the leaders to get us out of this mess? They talk about solutions without ever talking about the real issues. And nothing gets done. Yes, Mr President, it is frustrating.
