Oh, man. I so believe this woman.
It's still an allegation, but something to keep track of. M&M is a powerful lawfirm. If it has chauvinist or good ole boy activity within, it can't help many of us who are afflicted out here by the same behavior.

Former employee sues Morgan & Morgan for sexual harassment

Burman, who is seeking a jury trial, worked as a client service intake specialist there from June 23, 2008, to Feb. 15, 2010, according to the suit. In the suit, Burman alleges that she was subjected to continual sexual harassment.

"The workplace was full of inappropriate and sexual comments, innuendo, jokes, stories and acts," Burman claims in the suit. "While employed by the defendant I experienced graphic sex talk."

Much of the complaints were aimed at a man she identified as her supervisor. She complained about the man's actions and said that he was frequently intoxicated, saying he once urinated over the balcony of a bar at "happy hour" and was saved from arrest by another employee of the firm.

Burman complained that female employees had to provide sexual favors and not complain about what they experienced to get ahead in the company. She said when she rebuffed her supervisor's advances he became more and more hostile toward her, his actions were more punitive and he treated her differently from co-workers.

3. I think they're beefing up their political chops.
They will be players in the next election. I don't think it's in the best interest of Florida to have a lawyer Governor who has any reason to protect present or past clients of the firm. Just my humble opinion.

7. Me too. Their offices aren't far from my home
I'm going to pass this article along. With enough exposure their business should drop significantly.

5. At-will employment SUCKS! All employees are vulnerable. Proving harassment &
discrimination is expensive and risky.

This is just the tip of an enormous ice-berg.

9. Wow, this is like back to the future.
My first full time job in 1962 was in the Trust Department of a local bank and most of the officers were lawyers or law school graduates. The sexual harassment came with the job and it usually happened after the three martini lunches. Many of us found a different place to be at that time like in the file room or in the vault doing jobs we had to do there. At times the staff was required to attend soirees by various law firm they did business with and of course you were constantly being hit on by fat, jowly, white and probably very married men. The other women and I complained but HR would just tell us to suck it up and that it wasn't so bad, really? Was it? I finally threw a stapler at one of the men who was leering at me and talking dirty to me while giving me dictation. I didn't get fired, but I got demoted to a separate department where they dealt with the securities. It was better, just five woman and a nice elderly male boss, who kept his hands to himself, but then we were dealing with stock brokers, mostly over the phone, although there were times we had to run over to one of the firms to watch the board and they aren't much better than the lawyers.

Of course every now and then an affair would come to light between one of the bosses and a secretary. Of course, it was the secretary who was blamed for the scandal and fired. The man usually kept his job with a warning.

10. You go back further than I do.
I can see how this sort of thing would still exist today in the one place which doesn't have to answer to the federal government. A private law firm.

11. A shame as he is a Dem
Crist said last month that he was in serious discussions to join the Orlando firm, which is run by one of his longtime political supporters, Democrat John Morgan.
