Is anyone here afraid of Donald Trump
as a candidate? I think he'd be great myself.
Obama would win 70 to 30 percent.

9. No but he'd probably try to take the country into bankruptcy
and you just can't do that. But thats the only way he knows how to make money soooooooo unless Great Britain (Our parent country kind of) dies and the US gets a huge inheritance, he doesn't have any idea on how to make money.

4. Oh, I doubt it! and he won't run.
He knows Obama would cream him.
He's a harmless puff ball. Repubs, dumb as they may be, will ditch him if he doesn't ditch them first.

6. I agree he won't run...
...he'd have to disclose to much info.
I think it's more of a ratings gambit for his TV show.

7. He won't run
He's just doing this to get attention for himself, and for his show. Even if he does run, he won't get the nomination. After seeing how much he gave to Democrats, no way would conservatives vote for him, no matter how much he pushed the birther BS.

8. Not, per se, but
I suppose anyone who goes around w/their hair like that should invoke some fear in the rest of us.

He's gotta be a vampire because he doesn't have a reflection in the mirror, otherwise he'd change that doo!

12. A little bit...
He doesn't give a damn about his political career, he's not looking at the next election, he won't care if he has coattails or not, and he can manipulate the hell out of people (voters as well as the media). That frees him up to say anything at all....no consequences....

He's all about birther shit right now, because that's what will get him nominated. Then, he'll sing a different song. Anything to win.

You can't calculate him the same way you would calculate a lifetime pol like Romney, or a singleminded man on a mission like a Perot. Trump doesn't fit any conventional mold. That makes his dangerous, and a little bit scary.

16. Note - I don't think Trump will actually run
I don't think he wants the job - just the bragging rights of saying "I was the front-runner. I would have won"

If that stands, he's harmless. Helpful in fact, because the longer he stay in the light, the less centrist support will flip to the Repugs. In fact, I think he may even be an Obama plant :)

But - and this is a Rush Limbaugh sized but - If Trump gets it in his head that it will shame him to NOT run, he may, and we may have a race on our hands.

This IS the United States of Ridiculousness we live in, and we loves us some celebrity. Right?

17. No matter who they put up, this election will look more like pre-2008 elections.
Neither will get 50%. Obama will win by a hair.

There ain't no such thing as an unelectable Republican.
They have more money than God.
They own the media. They own the VOTING MACHINEZ!

Remember when we said the same thing about Bush.
The Republican party is much stronger now than it was then.

Even the craziest of crazy Republicans might "win".

We need a landslide in real votes to overcome the Repig machine.
We did it in 2008, but I don't see how we can do it again.

They are perfect together. I say we all give to that campaign or marriage. I bet Obama would too. It will give him four more years.
