The One thing in that movie is the finger pointing upward. Can be seen as only one thing being important, God.

That leads to many other doctrines. However it is also what you think God is. If you think God is spoiled or controlling with pride, then just honoring God and doing what you think God tells you to do, would be your one thing.

If you think part of God is also helping the many other peoples he created, and sharing love with him both through love of God, but also love of your neighbor, then that one thing would still be God, since that would be loving God also.


It is different for different people, that does not mean that every choice of action is of the same value.

I have posted on this before.

It is an old debate, if God loves everyone the same, then you could do anything you wanted and still share love with God, unless part of how he feels love is when you share that love with other people also.

What is that 'one thing' to you? How do you think of God.


There are paradoxes in there, the problem of 'reward' being different in heaven for different people is answered the same way as people creating their own hell. You create your rewards in heaven by your choice of actions, even though God loves everyone the same, and can help try to guide people to better actions.

It is an odd thought, but I think hell would be irrelevant, could be the impossibility of it, could be that it would have no power over me. Although that creates a paradox with creating your own hell.

From that the word hell is canceled out from the equation, making hell the thought of being in hell, or what you make of it. A common teaching in many things.

So instead of worrying about heaven and hell, find out who you want to be, and what you think is best. In my view of God that is not ignoring God, since thinking he is only in heaven is a limited thought, I think he is part of all creation, and how we treat all creation is also how we treat God. Including how we treat ourselves, again moderation in all things.

Under the statutes only the President or Congress can order the flag flown at half mast, for certain individuals and for certain reasons. Here in PA I have seen the flag flown at half mast for firefighters, children and on and on.

I explain it this way, the President and Congress can order the US flag flown at half mast, the Governor and/or the Legislature can order the state flag flown at half mast, the Mayor can order the city flag flown at half staff, the county executive can order the county flag flown at half staff, all other organizations and schools can order their flag flown at half mast.

It's a lot of these same individuals who don't know anything about flag decorum who will say they are the most patriotic individuals in the US.
