And, so far, that has allowed him to glide by. Too many sycophants telling him he's briliant. He's not. He's not a Clinton or an Obama. He just thinks he's in their league. He's a guy with a lot of money (who has also managed to lose a lot of money) and a big ego. He thinks he can bluster his way through a national campaign without our media tearing outs hunks of flesh. He can't. He doesn't have the grit that is required. He's soft.

That's exactly it: His whole life has been in a bubble of paid-for yes-people. Watching him on his shows, every little whim and capricious opinion is fawned upon by the crew. It's incredible to him that anybody would question him.
