1. I don't know what "people" think of him, but
I think he's a clueless elitist twit.

4. Smart enough to know when repugs are wrong,
but stuck in a pov. Sometimes worth the time to read, but not reliably so.

10. I agreee. He knows when to jump ship but, all to often
he tows an antithetical line. I think he is a smart guy, but welded to an ideology that consistently disappointments him. His brain would be relieved and thankful to be on our side.

6. One of the smartest Republics out there, but that's not saying much.
He still relies too heavily on talking-points, and nearly everyone he comes up against is able to disprove his "facts". IMO, they (all) generally go far easier on him than they should.

12. Don't really care if he's there but it bugs me that OP-ED is....
... now unbalanced. There's Brooks and Doubthat (sp) and Kristoff but who's going to replace Bob Herbert?

Without an articulate progressive ( Krugman's great but who really *wants* to read about economics?) the page is skewed right.

The op-ed is the only reason I kept getting the damn thing. The news pages are generic pro-government swill.
