1. That's probably because preschoolers are SLOBS
Or maybe the Preschool Teachers are slobs, or maybe the parents, or maybe all of them...
because it's clear that many of them grow up to act as slobs and occupy the state's Rotunda.

5. At the very least, it is where they are taught to be slobs.
We all know there is a hidden teaching plan in all preschools that teach children how to be (librul, union, acorn) slobs.

/heavy sarcasm off.

2. When kids turn 9 or 10 they forget how to spell their names and
count to 10. Oh, and they forget how to color inside of the lines.

What an ass.

14. They forget how to share, how to wait their turn, how to
work and play well with others, and how to wash their hands.

18. I think he should be recalled just for being so damned stupid!
Alas, that seems to be running rampant in those parts. What I can't understand is regular workers in Wisconsin are so smart, how does a person like him get elected?

8. Another attack on the poor and kids needing bilingual
education. Alot of parents depend on a free public education for their four year olds so they can re-enter the workforce. Other kids need an early start on learning English so they can be on an equal footing when they reach the academic grade levels.

What a putz. He just doesn't care that this can make the difference in promoting long term economic growth for families.

11. that's ridiculous!! my oldest went to preschool and when we went in for her kindergarten
parent teacher conference we talked to her teacher who was a teacher when my husband was a kid. you could definitely tell the difference between the kids who had been to preschool and those who hadn't. there are so many requirements for kindergarten that any kid without preschool is going in at a disadvantage. and while you might not be able to 'see' the effects, you will definitely notice them as those kids who haven't had that will end up being behind and therefore will have a harder time catching up. And when you have schools that are chasing the tests, these kids end up getting pushed along and suffer the next year because learning is built brick by brick and they have bricks missing. Imagine a kid who is behind. They are having a tough time. Do you think they will ask for help? Or maybe they will just give up and hate school and maybe even act out. every kid deserves every opportunity to grow and learn and to have a chance. education is the key and if i didn't know any better i would think that folks like this jerk don't want them to have that key.

19. Well, That's a New One:
...any academic benefit disappears by the time one is 9 or 10.

Coming up with new objections seems to be Republicans' priciple method of creativity.

20. No it isn't, its from the 90's
"NIEER Director Steve Barnett reviewed 22 long-term studies of the effects of preschool in a 1993 article entitled Does Head Start Fade Out? Each study followed children from preschool until at least 3rd grade. Results from these studies show that initial gains in children's IQ scores tended to disappear over time. However, gains in graduation rates, as well as declines in special education placements and grade retention, were maintained."
