IMF bombshell: Age of America nears end
Source: Market Watch

BOSTON (MarketWatch) — The International Monetary Fund has just dropped a bombshell, and nobody noticed.

For the first time, the international organization has set a date for the moment when the “Age of America” will end and the U.S. economy will be overtaken by that of China.

According to the latest IMF official forecasts, China's economy will surpass that of America in real terms in 2016 — just five years from now. Brett Arends looks at the implications for the U.S. dollar and the Treasury market.

And it’s a lot closer than you may think.

3. So what?
Why do we have to be the biggest? Let China be the world's policeman for a few year.

4. jobs
US companies still lead big internationally in many industries because the US is the dominant market. But as we become a small percentage of the global market US companies will need to lead in other regions to be world leaders. If they don't, they will have a good chance of being bought by foreign competitors that have won in China, India, South America, and other parts of Asia.

6. The way that happens...
...is a large number of people moving out of abject poverty into poverty.
