1492 Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue.... |
|
Where was he born?
Where did he sail from?
Where did he land?
In our current days of teabaggers demanding a return to the days of our forefathers I have found many don't have the slightest clue what the answers are to the 3 questions I pose here.
Ask a bagger... Enjoy the shocked, hung jaw, open stare that they return.

Tell a teahaddist that!
edit:
Seriously. Ask a "bagger" those ?'s. It's a fun few minutes until they become angry.

The claims of being supportive of the heart and sole of the founding of the US forces me to test them.
Edit: Nevermind. Welcome to DU. :hi:

8. Well to be perfectly fair Columbus had nothing to do with the founding of the US. |
|
Nor did he ever land on the North American continent. The US as such has its origins in the English colonies. Not in Spain's North American colonial empire. If the founding of the US had had anything to do with Spain American history would have been quite different (for one thing they still had the Inquisition in Mexico well into the 19th century).

10. The next big question.... |
|
Who discovered America almost 500 years before Columbus?
(Leif Ericson and his Norsemen discovered Newfoundland around the year 1000)
