re: the Ryan / Heritage Foundation fake charts
Notice how they shrink everything that is real down to a tiny percentage of the graph and then use very soft curves to cover up the details. Unlike an accurate graph which tries to show the details (sorry it is old, can't find a good one that is up to date, but my point is still valid).

I know I am preaching to the choir here but why don't we put out accurate charts and then ask them why they feel the need to obscure the data (as if we don't know)?

1. Figures don't lie, but liars figure. Marketing folks are figurers
and the one thing that the think tanks do is market their goods to lazy politicians looking for sizzling perspectives

2. Political Bait & Switch...
The GOTB needs to wash away its complicity in all the damage caused by the boooosh regime and try to pin it on this administration. It's distorting reality and making up numbers and then hammering it home. Usually the mighty wurlitzer does this through simple catch phrases (death panels, drill baby drill, tax and spend) that get echoed endlessly on hate radio and faux noise. In short order the rest of the lazy corporate media picks up on those memes and the Democrats are constantly put on the defensive.

What's interesting is seeing how this massive over-reach is muting those messages and may even backfire. The Perot-style charts don't fit on a bumper sticker and this time the catch phrases are being handed to the Democrats. Ryan is becoming a poster boy for the GOTB wanting to kill medicare. That's the message getting through.
