GOP Reps Ryan, Webster face furious voters at town halls
Source: Raw Story
By Stephen C. Webster

In the words of MSNBC host Rachel Madddow, House Republicans are in the midst of a “collective freakout” over the public’s reaction to Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) budget plan, which cleared the House right before Congress went on vacation.

Among other items, Ryan’s budget would significantly cut Medicare spending, eventually phasing it out in exchange for a coupon program that would only cover a small percentage of seniors’ medical bills.

Four Republicans voted against it, and not a single Democrat voted for it.

Now, Republicans are starting to catch the anger that Democrats caught in 2009 in the midst of their push for President Obama’s health care reforms. In two of the most recent examples, Reps. Ryan and Webster (R-FL) were confronted by angry crowds demanding to know why they had voted to cut Medicare.

A recent Gallup poll found that the majority of Republicans do not want Medicare to be cut.

1. The GOPers have over reached...and now find themselves flummoxed
and saddled with an albatross hanging on their collective necks..

Ryans plan is deeply flawed...but it passed and they are stuck with the vote....

3. Republicans in Congress are delusional. They (still) think this POS is going to take wing.
Grandma is going to kick their collective asses in 2012.

4. Unless they can figure out how to make sure Grandma can't vote.

And with a lot of these photo ID bills making their way through some state legislatures, they're already on it.

5. They'll have to disenfranchise a lot of (R) Grandmas along the way...
if they want to be successful.

Eventually (and, apparently, not a long way off), those of us they would like to disenfranchise are going to be the majority of voters.

6. Which means WE have to make damn sure OUR side gets out to vote - in such numbers that
there is NO WAY they can steal it. If they can get close enough to steal it, they do. It just happened again in Wisconsin a mere few weeks ago.
