2. Being a birther = an excuse to perpetuate their own racism and ignorance |
|
Birthers are ignorant racists just like the teabaggers who want "their" country back.
BTW, I like the "ish". :)

4. I saw a wingnut claiming that because his father lists his race as "African" he's not eligible... |
|
... because him saying his race was "African" somehow proves that he's not American. This is a sample of the craziness these idiots are in to!

9. Yes, let's face it. There's a lot of stupidity in the Republican party. |
|
That's why the good ole boy system thrives. They do whatever the fuck they want to do as long as they can form cabals to push their own idiocies.

5. Exactly! They hate it that this |
|
half-white, black-looking man is their president.
Besides, Tweety showed PBO's BC to one of them there Congress critters who was trying to introduce a bill requiring proof of birth before seeking the presidency right after PBO won the nomination.
Tweety had a copy of the original BC and he yelled and screamed about them not making the same effort that he did to request a copy from Hawaii state records. The flying spittle was overflowing as he called the birther non-issue ridiculous.
That didn't help, nor will this, because most of it is media driven and they don't do their due diligence, either.
Oh and Donald Trump is a bankruptcy filing, corrupt, untrustworthy sleaze.
*Does the Rosie O'Donnell Donald Trump hair sweep imitation* That is all.

They mounted a similar attack on McCain. If he won this would be focused on him. Basically, birthers support Ron Paul and they wanted to short circuit any other candidate.

8. Really? DU speculated in jest about McCain's birthplace to mock |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-27-11 11:13 AM by blondeatlast
the birfers, but no one here, not a single DUer to my knowledge, thought it was worth more than a day or two of kicks and giggles, and here in AZ, my friends ribbed about it too, then it went the way of the dodo.
In fact, many DUers took great pains to point out the falsity of the claim regarding McCain as some DUers weren't aware that being born in a US Territory counted.
I don't take kindly to the suggestion that we are "just like them." We are far more intelligent and possess critical thinking skills and oh, yeah--we have senses of humor. We're not at all "just like them."

13. There's probably more questions on McCain's citizenship now than Obama's... |
|
Read the following Washington Post Article to see the questions his circumstances raise. I would posit that those questions are more valid than any remaining questions on Obama now... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/01/AR2008050103224.html

15. First, that article is from May 2008. Second, he's done. |
|
He's not president, he's likely not running for Senate again (I'm from AZ, fwiw, and I hear the talk), so why give it a moment's thought?
Besides, he, like Obama is, would have been eligible--as loathesome as I find him.

16. I don't care to, but have used this as a way to point out to the birthers that are still... |
|
... on the warpath, on how their arguments are even weaker than the ones here presented against McCain, to hopefully get them to shut up and give it up.

and no, this would not be as big of an issue with McCain. There was a bit of such nonsense in the campaign, but very, very little, relatively speaking, to what was leveled at Obama.
