This is a short essay on Newscops, and how they always seem to have last word. May I suggest a pair of last words for them.
Six months ago, Parliament Square in London was a battleground as young Britains took to the streets to fight back against the chop in student benefits and what's left of the British Welfare State. Caught in the melee was Prince Charles and Camilla trapped in their newly repainted Rolls Royce limo:
The movement and the fear and the loathing haven't gone away, but this week the TV screens will have an entirely different image of Royals on the move about London:
Now, that's so much better, more contemporary, likable . . .
Three months ago, Democrats and union members in Wisconsin began to fight back against efforts to strip away collective bargaining and what's left of the public sector employee protections in America. Notably absent was a pair of comfortable shoes on the picket line:

That movement hasn't gone away, either, but this week TV screens have sucked up the spectacle of the non-issue of Obama's Birth Certificate, and the vilification of a self-parodying celebrity villain.
Redemption stories? Coincidence? Do you feel better today? Not me.
Restoration of order stories, both of them - that's the way the media always concludes the last chapter. Just for once, I'd like to see everyone still conscious tune them out, turn them off, and tell the corporate news and entertainment media to f-ck off.
F-ck off, Newscops. F-ck off.
