i can't imagine, in my younger years, hearing walter cronkite or huntley & brinkley reporting on the complete insanity of the trumps and palins like they were serious contenders.

we don't have more batshit crazies in politics, we have a media that now gives them an equal voice.

it's reality show news in the 21st century.

2. It's amazing isn't it. I think it started in 2004 with the swiftboat liars & has continued ever
since.

The msm talks about the crazies more than they talk about what is really going on in the world.

Enough!

3. Yesterday on RT it was described as "drowning in propaganda"
Meanwhile we're paying $4-$5 a gallon for gas that is completely price manipulated by a few large corporate speculators, have BS "wars" going on and are so dumbed-down that we're actually destroying the entire planet by denying climate change and other types of global environmental destruction.

4. I do blame the media. I think it began
sooner than 2004. It is not just television news. Do you remember when our former president took us to war? The New York Times and Judith Miller had a field day together. Even the media are taken in by lies. I think maybe the NYT did a mea culpa much later but not much of one. I never thought I would say this but I long for the days of 15 minutes of news was on weekday nights with Cronkite, Brinkley, and of course John Cameron Swayze.

6. That's because back then the TV news was not a P&L center. Often news was
aired at a loss. It was something to do, that needed to be done. Then, it was discovered large profits could be made off news and in came tabloid news reporting and huge profits. Now it's just viewership. The MSM for the most part could give a F what they air, all that counts is the bottom line. Then we have the outrageous sums of money they make off elections.

The 2012 election will be a huge win for MSM, and all of the controversy leading up, and now. And if there is no controversy the MSM will invent news to stir it up. This is a ridiculous place. And now what do we have, about 5 mega-conglomerates owning just about all of the media. The propaganda and disinformation in this country is incredible and well might be the undermining of America in the long run.

Here's something to view if you've not seen it ... It reveals a lot about what is going on IMO. Some of it might be offensive. I'm partway through it, but I started watching it because I did not feel change was coming. It's pretty clear to me a few percent own and run this country. The rest is window dressing and MSM plays a huge role in this, and they also get zillions in profit. The majority of Americans are being played as fools.
