The Chaser's satirical live coverage of royal wedding canceled

The Chaser (Yes, this is the Chaser behind that show The Chaser's War on Everything) was to host comedic live coverage of the royal wedding...but...BBC News reports "". The Australian public broadcaster ABC2 (not to be confused with the ABC station in Baltimore) has canceled its planned satirical live coverage of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton because: "Contractual restrictions bar comedy and entertainment programmes from using live footage of the ceremony," and "The BBC said the restriction on using the live footage applied to all broadcasters around the world and had always been part of the contractual agreement with the office of the Prince of Wales."

That sucks. I'm sure that in the Internet age I'm sure you can find plenty of snark on the social network sites like Facebook and Twitter. As an alternative I suggest that the Chaser just provides their alternative commentary live online to get around the restriction.

For an American view, I'm sure that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will have some good laughs about the wedding come Monday.

Some accomplishments of The Chaser:
- Breaching security at the 2007 APEC Summit including having a cast member dress up as Osama bin Laden.
- The Chaser's old show CNNNN (Chaser Non-Stop News Network) had a segment "Are Americans Stupid?" showing the political ignorance of average Americans on the street, like Jay Leno's "Jaywalking" feature. A copy of that segment on YouTube (with extended content from the ABC video) has generated nearly 28 million hits since 2007.
- In 2007, the Chaser also mocked Richard Cohen's gay therapy methods.
