People Believe The Government Should Guarantee Health Care For The Poor And Elderly

Framing effects matter a lot in polling, so it’s certainly interesting to see that The New York Times’ pollsters have devised language under which the Republicans’ Medicare plans are non-toxic, though I think the contortions they went through to get that result are misleading. But from the same poll, I think the really telling point for the long term is that Democrats and Independents are joined in favoring government health care guarantees that Republicans oppose:

2. So, 71% of Republican votes hate the poor. I think we knew that already.

3. Like one woman said at one of the townhall meetings, Medicare was created because
senior citizens weren't being picked up by insurance companies.

It was the decent thing for a government of, for, & by the people to do. And, as far as I'm concerned, my tax dollars that help pay for these services are, in effect, a form of "tithing".

4. Bravo.........loud applause, thank you.......I think it is a privilege to pay taxes and offer those
less fortunate care and comfort. I will gladly pay more in taxes, to do my part, in helping my fellow Americans who have been suffering at the hands of the dirty lying Republicans, Greedy Wall Street pigs, Corporations and the many millionaire and billionaires who care only about themselves. I want good schools for our children, safe roads and bridges, safe air to breathe, safe drugs to take, safe water to drink and mostly, safe and secure seniors who don't have to choose between medication or food. Thank you for your words of hope. Raise my taxes now! I can afford it, and so can everyone else who makes what I do. If I get a tax cut, I give it to my community anyway, so just raise all of us wealthier peoples taxes and get it over with already. I don't care about the greedy pigs who do everything they can to stop tax increases, raise their fucking taxes already and lets start to repair our battered and broken country instead of continuous cuts on the poor and middle class and tax cuts for the rich pigs. Stop the fucking madness, and anyone who signs Grover Norquists no tax increase document, is an enemy of the state as far as I'm concerned. I'm sick of all this taxes are to high crap, their not and the pigs in power know it. Businesses need to be taxed less? Yeah? How do you tax GE less who didn't pay any taxes, had billions in profit and got a 3 billion dollar refund? HOW DO YOU CUT GEs TAXES? Sorry for the rant at the end folks, I'm just so sick of this garbage.

5. We've all had enough of the "Twilight Zone"; how about bringing back "Are You Being Served?" &
"To Tell the Truth"?

:)
