....it's not the color of the President's skin that causes the walking wads of fuck to be so upset: it's a combination of his epidermis and the fact that he's succeeded massively in his life while the shitstains live lives of quiet desperation.
Oh, by the way, you fucking assclowns, IT'S YOUR FUCKING FAULT YOU ARE FAILURES IN LIFE.

that Obama has had some success in his life, and is very well liked, and their boy Bush was a total failure and is universally hated. That, and the fact that Obama is black. That's what it boils down to.

4. I Agree That a Lot of This is Simple Mimicry |

after the mockery that Bush was subject to. Regardless of whether it's deserved, a lot of people are going to jump on the bandwagon no matter what.

6. I don't think it was completely about race.... |
|
Hell, I work with a black conservative who is a "birther". He wanted proof that President Obama was not born in the US because he hates his policies.
When he was running for president, I wanted to see a birth certificate. Honestly, he was born to a Kenyan father, he spent a lot of time overseas as a child, and had a grandmother who claimed he was born in Kenya (although she did correct that statement). IMO, it was 100% reasonable to ask for documentation of birth from him. And he produced this a long time ago with the short form certificate of live birth. That was plenty proof for me. But not from others.
Don't get me wrong, many many many many birthers only care about it because he is black. But I hate to group so many people together like that, especially when I know multiple "birthers" who couldn't care less about his race. I am confident in saying that the majority of birthers are motivated by race, but no, not all.
I'm believe that the President of the United States should follow all of the rules associated with the office. The rules say that he must be a native born citizen, which he is. John McCain proved that he was a native born citizen, and so did President Obama.
On a side note, I think President Obama did this on his own. I fully believe that the democratic party did not want the long form certificate produced. As evidenced by this thread, the birther issue is an easy way to paint all birthers as racists. There are a lot of moderates that have been turned off from the republican party because of this issue. Now they can't use this issue to make them look bad as easily. President Obama probably pissed a few people off in the democratic party leadership by releasing this document today.

7. Not to belabor the point, but it appears to me |

that he is generally the smartest person in the room. Not that he's arrogant about it, but it's pretty unmistakeable, and that probably drives the "birthers" crazy.
