Majority of Republicans want Obama to fail
http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/archives/233657.asp

Poll: Majority rooting for Obama, GOP wants him to fail

Sixty-one percent of Americans, from all ethnic backgrounds, income groups and age levels, hope that President Obama's policies will succeed, according to a new Opinion Research poll for CNN.

Two groups disagree.

By a 61 percent to 27 percent margin - exactly the reverse of the poll's overall numbers - Republicans hope that the president's policies will fail. Fifty-one percent of self-described Conservatives are also hoping for failure.

The nation's 44th president gets positive marks as a person in the Opinion Research findings. "Would you say you approve of him or disapprove of him?" asked a question in the survey.

Seventy-three percent answered "Approve," and just 22 percent "Disapprove." In job approval, however, the latest Gallup Poll has Americans evenly divided: 47 percent give thumbs up to Obama while 46 percent disapprove.

5. Because their teabagger electee turned out to be an international
embarrassment for 8 years, which reflects badly on their voting judgment, so to try and hide their shame they have to play the "Look over there" game. By always zinging Obama and keeping Democrats on defense, the discussion rarely gets to the Bush incompetence that destroyed the last decade.

They are ignorant greedy power hungry fools who can't govern, so they have to say NO to everything.

Did you ever stop to think that is what republicans want, for the government to fail? Just look at the eight years under Bush Jr. Can you name a single policy that didn't fail? His war on terrorism? His economic policies? His refusal to maintain bridges and roads? His education policy that has nearly destroyed public education? Go ahead, try and name a single republican policy that has not failed. How about "supply side economics?" Or how about "gun boat" diplomacy that instigated 9/11?

So isn't the real question why republicans want America to fail and not whether they want the democrats to fail?

8. That is a brilliant observation.
You ought to revise it into a letter to the editor of your local paper.

12. The nature of the beast.
Most ReTHUGs today are of that nasty mindset that requires not only that they win, but that all others must fail and be ground to dust under their heel.

I used to be shocked by this attitude, thinking such a thing must be an anomaly, but the W years taught me different.
