Indianapolis Tea Party Told To Pay Parking Fees

INDIANAPOLIS -- The city has denied a request from the Indianapolis Tea Party to waive parking fees stemming from a tax day rally at the Indiana Statehouse.

The organization was told to pay a $450 fee for 30 parking meters that were bagged for its event on April 15.

The city typically grants waivers to nonprofit groups, but officials said this was the first time a politically affiliated group had requested such a waiver, 6News' Rafael Sanchez reported.

It looks unlikely that they (the board) would approve of future politically oriented parking meter waiver requests," said Molly Deuberry, spokeswoman for the Department of Public Works.

6News called Indianapolis Tea Party organizers for comment but hadn't heard from them as of Wednesday evening.

Hundreds of people attended the rally, advocating spending control by the nation's lawmakers.

1. Bet they sue trying to say

2. Wait till they try that in Chicago. Instead of paying mean ole gubmint....
Edited on Wed Apr-27-11 06:40 PM by Hassin Bin Sober
... they will have to pay the foreign investors. And the freight is much higher. Chicago is already on the hook for over 100k for meter bagging.

And the foreign investors don't care about non-profits. Fuck you - pay me.

They are really gonna LOVE privatization.

3. Free speech and free parking are two completely different things.
A bizarre art project may be an exception.
